March 11, 2012

The Redhawks took 2 of the 3 games in their season-opener against Eastern Washington University this weekend. Everyone hit extremely well the first game including Adam Johnson who had two triples and Keegan Mitchell with a triple of his own. And with Marco Santos hitting a walk off double scoring Colin Cabatbat and Anthony Clifford, the third game was won in the last inning with 2 outs! Although the team realizes they still have much to work on, this series was a great way to start the season. The Redhawks are hoping to pick up some more wins in their next series this coming weekend in Salem, OR against Central Oregon Community College.


 

February 1, 2012

The start of the season is just over a month away! Non-conference games have been scheduled for the first weekend in March with the College of Western Idaho. The Redhawks will travel down to Meridian, ID to play CWI and start off the season.

The guys have been working hard and putting in the extra effort in order to prepare themselves for what is looking to be a promising season. With a large increase in the roster size, the team has the skill and the depth it needs to make this year one to remember.

Summer is over and the Redhawks are already getting back in the swing of things.  The first practice of the year will be Wednesday, September 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Astro Gym in the Connolly Complex.

After winning the first two games in the regional tournament, the Redhawks couldn't pull out a win in the championship against Western Washington University.  Although this was a great disappointment to a team who has worked so hard all year, the Redhwawks are coming away from this season quite proud of everything they accomplished.  The team is looking forward to next season and has big things planned for the coming year.

The Seattle U Redhawks have done it!  The team has taken first place in the Northern Pacific West conference with a 9 - 3 record (11 - 5 overall) after taking two of three games against University of Oregon.  The Redhawks will leave Tuesday to begin the regional tournament starting Wednesday.  The first game will be at 3:00 against University of Montana.

The Redhawks took another series at home this past weekend with 3 wins against Central Oregon Community College and are now on a 9 game winning streak!  Su is currently sitting in first place but needs to finish out the season strong against University of Oregon this weekend to clinch the number one spot going into regionals.  Nonetheless, the Redhawks will be going to the regional tournament May 11-13 in La Grande, OR to play for a trip to Georgia for the National Championship!

 

April 25, 2011

After traveling across the State of Washington, the Redhawks swept the Eastern Washington University Eagles in a three game series with SU ten-running Eastern in the last two games.  Adam Johnson and Keegan Mitchell both had two home runs this series with Adam having a grand slam in the second game.  Joe Farrell tacked on a home run as well in the third game.  Pitching was outstanding as well with Steve Konkel, Kyle Lindseth, Adam, and Joe all pitching excellently.  Overall it was a great weekend for the Redhawks and they're looking forward to facing Central Oregon Community College this coming weekend.

The Redhawks faced Oregon State University's newly formed Club Team this weekend in a double header and too victories in both of the games!

Also, the games against University of Oregon that were cancelled last weekend have been rescheduled fo the weekend of May 7th and 8th in Eugene, OR.  Times and location are still in the process of being finalized.

Due to poor weather conditions in Eugene, OR, the games against University of Oregon have been cancelled.  We are looking into a weekend that will work for both teams to reschedule the games.

 

April 6, 2011

This past weekend the team played three games against Western Washington University at home.  The Redhawks won the last of the three games and is taking that momentum into this week's practices and this coming weekend's games against University of Oregon in Eugene, OR.


March 14, 2011

SU's club team traveled to Yakima this past weekend to play Idaho's Northwest Nazarene University.  Unfortunately SU lost both of the 7-inning games, but these were SU's first games of the year and they are looking promising as they prepare for their first regular season series coming up in April.

With the team's first game less than 3 weeks away, the Redhawks are working hard and preparing to start the season off with at win.  The team has also scheduled another non-conference game against Oregon State University on April 17 at Bobby Morris Field.  Tow 7-inning games will be played starting at 10:00 AM.


January 7, 2011

SU has scheduled their first non-conference game of the season.  The double-header will be played against Northwest Nazarene University on March 12 at Riverside Christian School in Yakima, WA.

The Redhawks are already moving into Winter Quarter! Practices will be Wednesdays and Fridays this quarter from 6:30 to 8:30 in the Astro Gym.

League games have also been scheduled - games start the first weekend in April and can be found under the Schedule tab.

As summer winds down it gets to be that time of year again.  SU's club baseball team will have its first practice/tryout on Wednesday Sept. 29 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Astro Gym in the Connolly Center.  Practices for the rest of the quarter will be at the same time - every Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the Astro Gym.
